Born in Matsuyama City, Ehime, in 1959, he developed an early fascination with mazes and castle structures. After studying painting at Musashino Art University, he began illustrating castle restorations in 1989, later expanding to historical works for magazines and textbooks. Today, he continues to create restoration illustrations for castles and temples. In 2003, inspired by his maze-loving child, he began creating maze art, leading to the publication of his picture book Maze of Time in 2005.
