Born in Kyoto in 1957, Katsushi Aiwa is a versatile artist celebrated for his mastery in dyeing. Known for his work with the Kyoto New Artists Association, he blends traditional techniques with original designs to create distinctive pieces. Aiwa also plays a key role as a producer for projects with leading printmakers.

Beyond dyeing, he explores illustration and commercial design, including exhibition posters. His work centers on themes like the natural beauty of Japan and the emotional concept of the “hometown of the heart”, capturing the spirit of Japan’s landscapes with deep sensitivity and artistry.
