Yoshiaki Funamizu
Born in 1937 in Tokyo Prefecture, Yoshiaki Funamizu is a master of Japanese collage art, known for his poetic expressions of the four seasons. Beginning his artistic journey at the Mitsukoshi Head Office Advertising Department, he developed a distinctive style using the “Hari-e” technique, layering washi (traditional Japanese paper) to capture the shifting beauty of Japan’s landscapes. Funamizu’s work invites viewers into a serene world where nature and craftsmanship harmoniously converge.
